Wow, what a cool video! It really makes me want to have an e-portfolio! I love how organized everything is. I know there are a lot of people out there who are not as organized and lose important papers, and they could definitely benefit from an e-profile. One of my favorite aspects of it is that it saves a tremendous amount of paper, and that is definitely a plus for the environment!
When I first heard of the e-portfolio, I was interested: it would be cool to have all of your work together and organized. But the annual price had me doubting the value. After watching this cute little video, I am very impressed with all that a e-portfolio can offer! I, too, am a very organized person and like to have everything together. I liked the idea of having notes saved in the portfolio- instead of having several random notebooks strewn about my bookcase, it would be cool to have them all organized together in an e-portfolio. I think I will try building one myself...
I really liked this video. It gave a good overview of how to make an e-portfolio. As many people above have stated I am very organized and I really like the idea that you can keep all of your important information in one place and you can view it almost anywhere. I really think it is great especially when you go to apply for jobs, I think that others will be very impressed as well.
This video made me realize how helpful an e-portfolio would be when I get to the point where I am applying for jobs and such. If I do make one in the future, it would be nice to add the portfolio we make in this class to my e-portfolio, since we are going to create reflections, resumes, etc. I think having an e-portfolio would be a great way to show that you would know how to incorporate technology into your classroom as well.
I liked to be organized, but with all the projects and work I have going on, it tends to get out of hand sometimes. Later in life when I must create a portfolio I will really look into the e-portfolio, because it looks like it can do a lot, and really make life so much easier as well!
I agree with Katie that I really like to be organized but find it difficult sometimes to keep all of my things from different projects/classes/experiences all together - this is a great way to create a complete view of yourself for others to see! I also love that you can decide who sees what on your e-portfolio. In other words, I could show my friends and family my blog, pictures, etc. and possible employers my resume! Awesome. Oh, yeah, and what Krista said is great too - imagine having all of your students create little e-portfolios (even if they were fake or something) - what a wonderful way to allow them to display their talents and achievements - not only celebrating themselves but improving their technological skills as well!
I didn't quite understand what an E-portfolio was until I watched that video, and it sounds like a good investment! Organization is key in any professional field and the E-portfolio is a great tool to help make this happen. I think that this would be an excellent resource to use once I get a little further along in my teaching so I can start to maintain and keep track of everything from my student teaching and notes from Credential school. It would be extremely professional to showcase your E-portfolio when going to a job interview, because it shows that you're organized, well-educated, and computer savvy. What a great idea!
The video was very interesting! Like Heidi, I didn't quite understand what an E-portfolio was until I watched this video. The video was very thorough and informational! I really like the idea of E-portfolios since they help us stay organized and it allows us to share information without having to worry about making copies for everyone. I also like how with E-porfolios we are also able to get feedback from others who look at a piece of writing. Furthermore, I liked how this can be an exellent tool for teachers since they help stay organize!
