This is a nigerian children's literature writer who did her Uniodergraduate program in the United States. She is talking about her Literature and life biopgraphy and the misconceptions people have about Africa
What a powerful speaker! I really enjoyed hearing her and watching this. She makes such a great point--that stories can be a conduit of power, that they tell us so much not only about those whose stories are being told but about ourselves as well. We listen to stories, digest them, and go about our lives informed by their assumptions about people. This is a video I will definitely share with my classes!
