I just thought that I would post something that we may find useful since the majority of us are graduating in FOUR weeks!!! This site just shows the outlook for our line of work (teaching) in elementary, pre-school, middle and high school levels. Even if some of you, like me may be taking a different path than teaching this site is still very useful for researching any line of work you may be interested in. If by chance you are planning to move out of state, this is also useful because it gives information for each state as well. Hope you find this somewhat useful!

Thanks, Casey! This is really interesting. We should all be aware of the information provided on this website. The job outlook seems to be good, which makes me wonder why we always hear such bad things about the job market for teachers.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice perspective to get, thanks. And yeah, I noticed the same thing Krista. According to the website there will be lots of jobs opening up in teaching. I wonder how up to date it is maybe? It would be interesting to look into. To me, it makes sense that more teachers will be needed even given the economy, since students aren't going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI think that since this is such a difficult time and all, this brings a bit of hope out there. Considering we are graduating in 4 weeks, I am kind of scared of what is next. My credential professors are hopeful and this helps me. I myself am loooking to work in low income areas or title 1 schools, so knowing that there is work there is great. It is also great to learn that computer applications has become apart of the job requirement. And lastly, I can't wait for this job market to triple!
ReplyDeleteThis is really interesting! Thanks for posting it! A lot of us still need to complete our credentials so hopefully by the time we are done with that the teacher job market will be on the upswing!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really informative website!! I think that anyone looking to go into this field should be familiar with the content on this site, because it answers a lot of questions and discusses exactly what is occurring in education today. I really hope that things start looking up for education by the time we are all finished with our credentials and looking for teaching jobs. The fact still remains, we will always need teachers!! =)
ReplyDeleteThis site has a lot of useful information, and shows us that jobs may be available in the near future which would be a great thing for all of us! Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteWow! I totally didn't know information like this was even available! Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention - it will be really helpful If (and when) I start having trouble finding a position. With this, I can learn not only what my chances of getting a job are, but how that chance can vary from state to state and how things might change in the coming years! SO Helpful!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good resource. I had no idea this info was so readable available. Its nice to find out the odds of getting a job in the field I want. I like that it try's to give you a heads up for the future. At least there will always be a job for teachers!
